weird noise on 20m during my pota activation yesterday

so i was up at K-1234 doing a pota activation yesterday afternoon and kept getting this weird buzzing noise every few minutes on 20m. it would last maybe 10-15 seconds then disappear. didnt hear it on 40m at all. wonder if it was something in the park or just band conditions? was using my usual endfed with the 9:1 balun about 20 feet up in a tree

anyone else notice anything funky yesterday around 1800z? worked about 30 contacts but that noise was really annoying

could have been maintenance equipment or something electrical in the park. ive had similar issues and its usually something local. try listening around on different frequencies next time to see if you can track down where its coming from

yeah i've had that happen before, turned out to be a solar panel charge controller at a nearby facility that was going bad. the intermittent nature sounds about right for that kind of interference. if you go back to the same park try moving your antenna setup to a different location and see if it follows you or stays in one spot
