anyone else just sitting on 40m waiting for something interesting to happen lol

so its been a pretty slow week for me, been scanning around 40m in the evenings and its just a lot of the usual nets and some contesters doing their thing. not complaining really just kinda hoping to stumble onto something fun. had a nice random qso with a guy in Montana last tuesday who was running some ancient heathkit and honestly that made my whole night, we talked for like 45 minutes about nothing in particular. anyway whats everyone else been up to lately

yeah 40m has been weird lately, propagation feels off to me but im not totally sure if its the band or just my antenna situation. i strung up a new end fed last weekend and still sorting out the feedpoint impedance stuff. the heathkit thing sounds cool though, i always love running into guys with old gear that actually still works

slow nights on 40 are just part of it honestly. i usually flip over to 17m when 40 gets dull, theres almost always something interesting happening there if the band cooperates. caught a ZL station last thursday completely by accident while i was just tuning around, worked him on the first call which never happens to me. sometimes you just gotta spin the dial and see what shows up.
