anyone else just sit on 40m and listen lately

i dont know what it is but ive been spending more time just listening on 40m in the evenings than actually transmitting. something kind of relaxing about it. picked up a station last night that sounded like it was coming from somewhere in eastern europe, couldnt quite make out the call but the signal was crystal clear around 7.180 or so. my wife thinks im losing it sitting there with headphones on staring at the ceiling but honestly its the best part of my day lately

yeah 40m at night is something else. i do the same thing, especially in winter when propagation gets weird and you start hearing stuff you have no business hearing from your little dipole in the backyard. dont feel bad about just listening, half the hobby is that honestly

lol my xyl says the same thing about me. i got a kx2 and i just dial around for like an hour before i ever even think about calling cq. 40 and 80 both get real interesting after local sunset imo
