I've been studying with the current 2022-2026 question pool materials, but just heard there's a new pool coming in July 2026. Should I rush to take my exam before July 1st, or wait and study the new material?

I'm about halfway through my studies and feeling pretty confident with the current pool. But if the new one is significantly different, maybe I should start over with fresh materials. Anyone know what's actually changing?

If you're planning to get your Technician license, don't stress about which pool you'll be tested on—the fundamentals are the same. The 2026 pool modernizes some questions around digital modes and clarifies a few regulatory details, but it's not a dramatic overhaul. Stick with your current study plan and test before July.

If you're studying now and plan to test before July 1, 2026, you'll still be tested on the current 2022-2026 pool. The new pool only applies to exams administered on or after that date. Just finish what you started - no point switching horses midstream!
