Q65 vs JT65 performance comparison - real world EME results

Recent tests suggest Q65 has several advantages over JT65 for EME, with better performance on very weak signals and potentially replacing JT65 for moonbounce work. Q65 offers variable T/R sequence lengths and tone spacings specifically optimized for EME and other weak signal applications. The new MAP65/QMAP software provides automatic polarization-matched reception across 90 kHz sub-bands for both modes. Looking for input from operators who've made side-by-side comparisons. Are we seeing the migration from JT65B to Q65 that was predicted? Reports indicate Q65 can decode down to -28dB S/N ratio.

We've definitely seen Q65 activity increasing significantly on 2m EME, especially weekends. The signal averaging feature in Q65 is remarkable - it tracks received sequences and pieces information together over multiple transmissions for successful decodes. Measured about 2-3dB improvement over JT65B in marginal conditions at our contest station.

QMAP integration with WSJT-X provides automatic Doppler compensation which is particularly valuable on 1296 MHz and higher bands. The selectable T/R sequences (15,30,60,120,300 sec) and submodes allow optimization for specific path conditions. Still seeing plenty of JT65B activity though - not everyone has migrated yet.

Q65 decode tags like "q1", "q2" etc. show the AP decoding process and number of averaged sequences - really helps understand what's happening during difficult contacts. Running basic EME setup here, consistently seeing around -22dB signal levels with Q65-60B mode. The extra sensitivity definitely helps on marginal paths.
