Setting up my first SO2R station with two IC-7600s and a Force-12 C-31XR tribander. I'm getting significant interference between bands without proper filtering - learned the hard way that SO2R without band filters is asking for trouble. Currently experiencing receiver overload when transmitting 100W on 20m while listening on 10m.

Looking at band isolation requirements - most sources suggest -50 to -55dB isolation is sufficient for 100W operation. Considering VA6AM BPFs or building homebrew filters. The main concern is 2nd harmonic from 20M TX hitting the 10M receiver - anyone running this exact radio combination with success?

Also weighing the TopTen DXDoubler vs YCCC SO2R Box Plus for switching hardware. Which direction would you seasoned SO2R operators recommend for a suburban station?

I run dual IC-7600s with great success. You absolutely need proper band-pass filters - I use the 6-band VA6AM set with their HP triplexer. The IC-7600 front end handles the filtered signals without overload issues. Start with the filtering before any switching box.

Different radio models can be challenging for SO2R since your brain has to adapt to different control layouts. Stick with identical IC-7600s - you made the right choice. For switching, the YCCC box has better integration with N1MM+ if you're using that logging software.

Band-pass filters and automatic antenna switching will be your key to success. I'd also suggest adding some low-pass filters on the transmit side to further reduce harmonics. LP BPFs before amplifiers help get harmonic levels down and can be controlled automatically.
